    Accessibility Statement

    Last updated: March 2026

    Our Commitment

Retailnews.ai is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to make our content inclusive.

    Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments.

While we strive for full conformance, some content may not yet fully meet all Level AA success criteria. We are actively working to address any gaps.

    Measures We Take

Retailnews.ai takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:

    • Colour contrast — Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratios in both light and dark modes, with adjusted CSS variables for muted and metadata text.
    • Semantic HTML — We use proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and ARIA attributes throughout the site.
    • Keyboard navigation — All interactive elements (navigation, forms, dialogs, menus) are operable via keyboard.
    • Focus indicators — Visible focus styles are applied to all focusable elements.
    • Responsive design — Content reflows at all viewport sizes without loss of information or functionality.
    • Alt text — Images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are marked appropriately.
    • Form labels — All form inputs have associated labels or accessible names.
    • Cookie consent — Our cookie banner is keyboard-accessible and uses appropriate ARIA roles.

    Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some areas may have limitations:

    • Third-party content — Embedded advertising (Google AdSense) and third-party scripts may not fully meet accessibility standards. We do not control these components but choose providers committed to accessibility.
    • Legacy article content — Some older articles may contain images without optimal alt text or content structures that predate our current standards. We are progressively improving these.
    • Charts and data visualisations — Interactive charts may have limited screen reader support. Where possible, we provide text-based summaries alongside visual data.
    • PDF documents — Downloadable reports may not be fully accessible. Contact us for an alternative format.

    Assistive Technologies Supported

Our website is designed to be compatible with:

    • Screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS)
    • Screen magnification software
    • Speech recognition software
    • Keyboard-only navigation
    • Operating system accessibility features (high contrast mode, reduced motion)
