Landing the 900 and why we need to embrace change

    What is the 900?

    900 (skateboarding)

The 900 is a 2½-revolution (900 degrees) aerial spin performed on a skateboard ramp. While airborne, the skateboarder makes two-and-a-half turns about their longitudinal axis, thereby facing down when coming down. It is considered one of skateboarding's most technically demanding tricks.

In 1999 during extra time and past his 10th try, Tony Hawk aged 31 landed his first 900 at the X Games, he then repeated it a year later when he landed the 900 in the official time allowed, this was a monumental moment in Skateboarding history.

It took another 12 years for a new record to be set for the 900, in Malibu California Tom Schaar became the youngest person to land the golden 900 on a skateboard while skating at the MegaRamp facility at Woodward West, achieving what only eight others had achieved to date in 2011.

In 2014 the record for the youngest skater to land a 900 went to 10 yr old Asher Bradshaw.

At 48, Tony Hawk landed the 900 again after several failed attempts, demonstrating age is not the barrier to achieving great things.

The barrier to greatness is the same for young or old, Effort & Mindset are the two most desirable ingredients for success, anything is possible with the right mindset and applied effort.
